Cision fights back against Dow Jones
Last month, Dow Jones announced that it had issued a lawsuit against Cision valued at $USD 173 million. This month, Cision has returned the favour, issuing proceedings against Dow Jones. Cision’s counterclaim states that before and after the execution of the Dow Jones partner agreement, the company failed to meet its legal obligations. Cision has noted 12 identified breaches of the contract by Dow Jones and 20 misrepresentations or fraudulent omissions that Dow Jones used to induce Cision to enter the agreement in the first place. Cision alleges the actions of Dow Jones has resulted in more than $USD 170 million in damages for Cision.
Notified partners on identity verification
Notified has announced a partnership with CLEAR, the secure identity company. The agreement will see CLEAR identity verification technology added to Notified’s GlobeNewswire service. The service will allow users to verify their identity, adding a “CLEAR Verified” badge to their press releases on GlobeNewswire. You might recall that a fraudulent press release circulated via GlobeNewswire generated news a few years ago, and the CLEAR partnership will boost security and trust in the newswire service.
Meltwater announces Partner Program
Speaking of partnerships, Meltwater has launched its Partner Program. The company has been busy announcing partnerships with the likes of Microsoft and Blackbird.AI. Through the Meltwater Partner Program, Meltwater’s customers will benefit from complementary solutions and services. In addition to Microsoft, the partners include Dig Human, a digital agency, and Point 600, a communication consultancy.

Cision has launched the CisionOne platform in Asia. (It’s been a busy month for the company!) The platform is available through Cision’s offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, and Kuala Lumpur, with dedicated local reps across the region.
Later, the social media management and influencer marketing provider, has added social listening to its toolkit. The release forms part of Later’s transition to providing a single influencer and social media ecosystem for brands and creators.
