Media Intelligence Stories You Missed in July

Liam Kelly 29 July, 2026
AI search visibility set the agenda in July, from a run of new industry reports to Gartner’s first combined Magic Quadrant for social media management and listening. Muck Rack deepened its publisher partnerships, Onclusive teamed up with Cyabra to expose inauthentic narratives, and both Onclusive and Sprinklr installed new leaders.

Sprinklr leads Gartner Magic Quadrant

Gartner published its first Magic Quadrant to treat social media management and listening as a single offering, reflecting the consolidation we’ve seen over recent years. Sprinklr and Emplifi were named “Leaders”, Hootsuite and Sprout Social are “Visionaries:, and Brandwatch and Oktopost have been named “Niche Players”. The report noted four of the six evaluated vendors now track brand representation in AI search results, and flagged Brandwatch’s Trajaan acquisition and its increasing integration into parent Cision’s unified data layer. Sprinklr has kindly provided access to the report, and it is worth a read.

Cyabra and Onclusive partner on Inauthentic Narratives

Onclusive has partnered with Cyabra, the narrative intelligence provider, to help brands tell genuine public sentiment from orchestrated, inauthentic campaigns. The collaboration layers Cyabra’s detection of fake accounts, coordinated behaviour and synthetic media onto Onclusive’s social listening content, which processes tens of millions of items daily.

Onclusive

Leadership change at Onclusive

Speaking of Onclusive, the company has appointed Peter Harris, previously president of CRM provider Pipedrive, as chief executive. The outgoing CEO, Rob Stone, has moved to the board alongside private equity owner STG. In other leadership news, Sprinklr named Thomas Addis, a revenue leader from Bazaarvoice, Box and Salesforce, as Chief Revenue Officer, reporting to president and chief executive Rory Read.

Muck Rack

Muck Rack expands content

Muck Rack has announced two new content partnerships. It’s the first to license MIT Technology Review’s journalism, including its paywalled coverage. It’s also integrating full-text Bloomberg reporting into its workflows for Bloomberg.com group subscribers. (If that sounds familiar, Cision announced the same arrangement last month.) Muck Rack’s deals point to a continued focus on developing its media monitoring offering.

Summer Reading: it’s all AI Search

In case you needed proof that AI search was the hottest topic in media intelligence, this summer’s reading all comes back to the one question: how brands stay visible inside AI answers. Notified and PRWeek’s ‘AI Is Your Audience’ set out a SOAR framework drawn from 250,000 press releases and nearly a quarter of a billion AI citations; Agility PR‘s ‘Closing the AI Visibility Gap’ analysed 24,480 prompt-and-answer pairs and found engines name just 7.5 brands per answer; and Muck Rack‘s State of PR found 73 per cent of PR professionals rate generative engine optimisation important, yet 29 per cent say no one owns it. If that wasn’t enough and you still want more, Profound‘s Profound Index benchmarks more than 1.5 billion real-user prompts across more than 50 industries in a “freemium” solution.

Media Intelligence Product Updates

Here are some of the product announcements that caught our attention this month:

Cision
Cision added an AI Visibility Dashboard to CisionOne, letting PR teams monitor and benchmark how their brands appear across ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. Powered by search-intelligence data from Trajaan, it sits alongside media monitoring, social listening and outreach in one platform.
Meltwater expanded Meltwater MCP, adding tools that let AI assistants act inside the platform, from building reports to tracking alerts in real time. The release built on the Model Context Protocol support it has hosted natively since 2025.
Sprinklr announced its Summer Release, adding agentic AI to turn customer signals into real-time action across marketing and service. New features included agentic Voice AI, a Sprinklr MCP beta connecting assistants such as Copilot, ChatGPT and Claude, and ViralMoment video analytics.
CARMA launched Noor, a personal AI analyst built for communications professionals, offering on-demand analysis within its media intelligence offering.

Profound announced three features: Profound Aim, an always-on agent that turns AI search signals into prioritised marketing projects; Ads Studio, for running paid campaigns across AI search platforms; and FactCheck, which measures and improves the factual accuracy of how brands are described by AI.
Medianet became the first partner to integrate TVEyes’ new Premium Media Player, bringing enhanced broadcast and podcast monitoring, with faster search, clipping and sharing, to communications teams across Australia.
eMedia Monitor partnered with content marketplace MT Connect to bring its real-time broadcast intelligence, spanning 94 countries, 42 languages and more than 3,500 channels, to MT Connect’s users as country-specific broadcast packages.
Buzzabout expanded its AI social media research platform with always-on listening agents, audience demographics paired with OCEAN personality scoring, and native connections to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, analysing conversations across six social networks in more than 30 languages.
Dataminr received Frost & Sullivan’s 2026 Global Competitive Strategy Leadership Recognition for its AI-powered real-time risk intelligence, which draws on billions of daily signals across public sources in more than 150 languages. Frost & Sullivan noted customers report incident-response times cut by close to 70 per cent.
