February looks to be an interesting month for media intelligence, largely because Meltwater announced what could be an industry-defining partnership with Microsoft. (We will all be keeping watch on that one.) Signal AI and Carma both announced acquisitions of UK companies. We have new products from CoverageBook and Newswire.
January saw the return of two public relations stalwarts. Edelman released its annual Trust Barometer highlighting how respondents are feeling about innovation, like AI. Burson has returned as a PR agency brand, with WPP merging Hill & Knowlton and BCW. Meanwhile, Mavrck rebranded and we have product innovation from Pulsar and MediaHQ.
PR Measured readers’ favourite stories from 2023. The year’s big stories were focused around AI in media intelligence and industry reports.
November saw two new company launches in media intelligence – Matt Allison’s freshly funded Handraise, and InsightHQ from Rayna De Lange and Catriona Oldershaw. We also saw a new partnership from Muck Rack, and even more AI announcements. Let’s not forget that November is AMEC’s Measurement Month.
The Measurement Stories You Missed from October 2023 including: a new Intell arm for Hill+Knowlton Strategies, NewsGuard is under fire and AI news from Ipsos, Meltwater, Cision and ICCO.
In September, Cision announced its exclusive agreement with Dow Jones, the 15th European Communications Monitor and AI news from publishers and media intelligence providers alike.
You’d think that August would be a quiet month in media intelligence, but it has proven to be rather busy for some organisations. First off, we have acquisitions from Sprout Social and North Six Group, and the completion of Meltwater’s takeover. Meanwhile, there are reports that Paragon Partner’s is exploring the sale of Unicepta.
In July, BCW announced a new tool to identify disinformation. Meanwhile, Threads was launched, the Twitter brand was retired, and the Social Intelligence Lab gave us the State of Social Listening report. AI, however, continues to be the focus from media intelligence providers.
In June, PRovoke Media and Purposeful Relations released the Global CommsTech Report. In addition, CARMA expanded geographically, AMEC had a slew of post-Summit announcements, and AI continues to be the focus from media intelligence.
